Orange City, IA.---Sioux County Republicans Special County Convention is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 7:30 pm at the Sioux County Courthouse.
The purpose of the Special County Convention will be to select a nominee to be placed on the November ballot for Sioux County Treasurer replacing current Sioux County Treasurer Randy Feenstra. Randy will be resigning prior to the end of his term and will be on the November ballot for State Senator.
Please arrive early to register and visit with potential candidates.
Alternate Delegates will be seated if any vacancies occur in your precinct delegation. We encourage Alternate Delegates to attend to fill out precinct delegations. If you are a delegate and are unable to attend we request that you contact an alternate delegate from your precinct to allow as much representation as possible from your precinct.
The rules of the convention are attached to this notice as well as a list of all delegates and alternates.
We anticipate having several candidates competing for this ballot endorsement. Only the delegates and seated alternate delegates will have a vote for the placement on the ballot in November on the Republican ticket.
We ask that you make every effort to attend since this convention will decide the Republican candidate to be placed on the November ballot.
The Sioux County Republican Executive Committee asks that you thoughtfully consider the qualifications and experience of the individuals that wish to represent us as our potential County Treasurer. You will probably receive information and phone calls from the candidates regarding their qualifications for this position. We encourage you to visit with these individuals. It is a unique opportunity when a small group of convention delegates have so much responsibility in our county government representation. Please do not take this responsibility lightly.
