Orange City, IA.---Sioux County Republicans are ready to caucus and have announced their precinct caucus locations. Caucuses will take place on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
The First in the Nation 2012 Presidential caucus is open for anyone to participate as long as they are a resident of the precinct caucus they are attending and will be 18 years of age on November 6, 2012. All persons attending the caucus must be registered to vote or register the night of the caucus. Please arrive early enough to check in and possibly register at each caucus location. If you need to register that evening please bring a photo ID that lists your address of record or other proof of residency. If you register with the Sioux County Auditor after December 1, 2011 you may not be listed on the registered republican voter lists that are sent to each precinct and will need to complete voter registration forms that evening.
Iowa Presidential Caucus participants will cast a private ballot to express support for the candidate of their choice. The precinct caucuses will also perform the following functions:
- Elect two persons to serve on the County Central Committee
- Elect delegates and alternate delegates to the Sioux County Republican Convention held on Saturday, March 10, 2012.
- Propose and vote on platform planks sent on to the County Convention.
